V Laser therapy is the application of laser light applied directly into the bloodstream. A needle is used to enter the vein like a normal IV then an optical fiber is attached which carries the laser light into the bloodstream.

HOW IT WORKS

This machine has 4 colours plus ultraviolet, but can be equipped with up to 12 lasers with different wavelengths/ colours

Once in the vein the laser light is absorbed by the red bloods cells. This light stimulus provides signals which affect the chemical behaviour, metabolism, movement and gene expression of our cells. This cascade of events ripples across an entire cell and thus effects the whole body. As it takes an average of one minute for blood cells to be pumped around the body this means during a 20-minute session the entire blood supply is exposed to the colour laser around 20 times.

WHY IT WORKS

Biochemical Mechanisms:

  • In general, there are specific cellular structures that are able to absorb specific wavelengths (colours) of light (known as photoreceptors)

Some benefits of intravenous laser will be immediate. More than 50% of patients will notice a boost in energy or sense of well-being within a few hours of treatment. Others may take a day or so to notice any effects. Most people do best with a trial of several sessions before taking a break. Research has shown that certain benefits may last up to 24 months however, around 120 days is more common.

HOW THE TREATMENT IS DONE:

The treatment starts with a review of your medical history and health concerns. For the treatment itself a cannula is then inserted into the vein and the laser light is attached to the cannula. The light shines directly into the vein and this causes the positive effects on the body’s cells. 

In most conditions all wavelength colours are used to get maximum cellular effects. The treatment lasts 60 minutes and the laser colour is changed every 10-15 minutes. A protocol of 10 treatment is usually required. With application being either daily with a break at the weekend or 3 days per week.

The patient experience is a simple and comfortable process and requires no downtime. Side effects of the procedure are very unlikely due to the administered low power of the laser and this has been confirmed by clinical data.
